"Desafinado", is a song I've started working on for my band's set list. This masterpiece of chords (composed by Antonio Carlos Jobim) seem to follow one another in a perfect dance-like motion. Performed by João Gilberto in the vid above, It amazes me how fluent and effortlessly his style was.

Nothing says tough guy like the original white crew-neck. Classic. Understated and never goes out of style. Ditch the deep-v for a classic white crew neck for that laid back 50's cool. Don't opt for something high-end either. Remember, you're not wearing it to the Grammy's or even on a date. This is Saturday afternoon attire. Sunglasses, smokes and revolver optional. I like Hanes but there are some other brands out there that work. Wash it once and leave it in the dryer on high. Perfect fit. American classic.

"I rather like my reputation, actually, that of a spoiled genius from the Welsh gutter, a drunk, a womanizer; it`s rather an attractive image."

Nowhere

There's this little place in the middle of nowhere
that has this red hot neon sign behind that bar that just buzzes
and hisses at you with a lonely glare
The bartender there, Jimmy, I think is his name
has warm blue, welcoming eyes and chalk white coarse hair
good guy Jimmy
Serves you ice cold beer and cocktails with weathered hands
and talks to you about life and women for hours
until he closes shop and shuts the red hot neon sign off.

Makes you wonder about Jimmy
and where his place in the middle of nowhere is.

There's something to be said for chillin' at the casa with my dog Alfie and just doing nothing. Hope everyone has a great weekend! Spending some time with the fam after a busy week this weekend and taking it easy!

"After dark, when the lights turn on all over the world, You'll find gamblers and musicians, heartaches and lovers all turned on. I bid a hearty good mornin' to the evenin' that beacons me on, And dares me to sleep, as the night-half of the world moves along."

Merle Haggard - After Dark
