Dark Star Denim

GAP 1969 Skinny-fit jean, Dark Star $64.50

I must admit it's been a minute since I've purchased a pair of Gap jeans, but these really caught my eye. I was checking out "The GQ Guide to Denim Right Now" when I saw these. The wash and fit appear perfect for my style...will definitely be trying these on soon..

I've been working on some branding for my company and another client and I always look to Designer, Saul Bass for inspiration. I stumbled across this image of his mid-century home, it seems his knack for simplicity and style followed all the way into his residence. Killer pad.

Trying to grow the hair out a bit ala Alain Delon in the pic below. More of a classic cut with some edge. Delon was always able to pull off a classic look but make it look edgy and modern.

"In Streetcar, some of the guys backstage and me, we used to go down to the boiler room in the theatre and horse around. One night I was mixing it up with this guy and - crack! So I walked around to the nearest hospital. My nose was really busted. They had to give me an anaesthetic to set it, and put me to bed. Not that I was sorry. Streetcar had been running about a year and I was sick of it."

(Recalling the incident recently, Irene Selznick, Producer of the Williams play, said, "Suddenly his face was quite different. Kind of tough. For months I kept telling him, 'But they've ruined your face. You must have your nose reset.' Luckily for him, he didn't listen to me. Because I honestly think that broken nose made his fortune. It gave him sex appeal. He was too beautiful before.")

Santana at Woodstock

From the first time I heard the crying and weeping sounds of Carlos Santana's lead guitar coming through the stereo I was hooked. During the sweltering hot summers growing up in New Mexico my father would put the Moonflower album on as my mother cooked dinner and play it into the evening...

I would open the front door and let in the cool valley breeze while the album played and I would watch the sky turn from evening to night. My favorite track then and my favorite track now is Let The Children Play. Take a listen below.
