The Traveler

There was a time when flying meant something, you were going somewhere, it was exciting. Stewardesses wore uniforms fit for a runway, men wore suits and sipped on cold martinis. Today most people dress like they're taking the bus, not catching a plane. If you're going to travel, do it in style.

You don't have to wear a suit just keep it simple and pair a navy blazer with a white dress shirt and some classic tennis shoes like Adidas Samba or Jack Purcells. You can still be comfortable and not have to look like you schlepped out of bed. For luggage I highly suggest Jack Spade for both quality and style. Make sure to put your passport somewhere safe or use a stylish passport holder like the one below.

Don't forget to load the iPOD with new music, try anything from Astrud Gilberto, no matter where you're going the easy samba sounds will take you some place warm and cancel out the noisy kid behind you kicking your seat. Don't forget to grab a good book and leave the magazines and best-sellers for the suckers. I always go for the classics like, Steinbeck's East of Eden or one of the other top 100 novels out there.
