Just got back from visiting my family in Albuquerque (my home town) and Santa Fe, New Mexico for Thanksgiving Weekend. I had an amazing time, drank some delicious New Mexico wine, ate some spectacular food and soaked in my culture; it made me realize you really can never forget where you came from. I wish I could've spent some more time but I picked up a couple of items below that will be a constant reminder for me to be back soon...
Vintage denim shirt purchased off Nob Hill in Alburquerque
Hand-crafted silver ring I purchased at a Santa Fe market
Reserve Merlot from Vino Del Corazon Winery in Santa Fe
Wearing my newly purchased goods at a deli in Santa Fe

November Listening
Just got my first listen of The Ghost of a Saber Toothed Tiger's new track "Jardin du Luxembourg" taken from GOASTT's new album Acoustic Sessions. GOASTT is a duo comprised of Sean Lennon and Charlotte Kemp-Muhl (Wife). Great fall/winter listening! Short week for me then off to New Mexico for Thanksgiving weekend to visit family, I will be rocking this on the 11-hour road trip there..

Night with Pacino
This past Tuesday I was able to see legendary actor Al Pacino at the Dallas Winspear Opera house for the Brinker International Forum. For 2 1/2-hours Pacino talked about his passion for Theater and Film took Q&A from the audience and gave several brilliant readings.
Throughout the forum I kept thinking how Pacino is pretty much the same on screen as he is off screen. At times Pacino seemed to forget the moderator was there and leaped out of his seat to describe a story or a new project in full animation. My favorite part of the forum were the readings which he recited from E.E. Cummings to several other film scripts. It's not often you get to see such an iconic figure in such an intimate setting.
Unfortunately, during the readings there were a few people that walked out early (apparently they felt 11pm was too late for them). This was obvious to Pacino who seemed quite perturbed. After his last reading without further adieu he exited the stage without a goodbye. But what do you expect? It's Pacino. You gotta problem with that?

Pea Coat
In search of the perfect pea: It's been awhile since I've owned a Pea-Coat. I used to own an all-black one similar to the one Scott Weiland is wearing in the pic above but lately I've been on the hunt for more of a traditional look.
I have a few gigs coming up that will include a lot of Bossa Nova in our sets and I'm feeling the whole nautical-vibe. I've seen a few variation's out today on this classic piece, but some seem a little hype-looking for my style...(Any suggestion's welcomed)

Coffee Talk
In high-school and college I barista'd at several coffee bars and developed an appreciation for coffee. For a small-time I was on an espresso kick and all I would order were double espressos. Well, I'm back on that kick and I've always dug the style of the Francis Francis espresso machines.
Since I've been working from home quite a bit lately this would keep my productivity up highly...The espresso machine combines classic-cool with the functionalities of a new machine. I like the Ferrari-red color. The machine retails on Illy for $320. This will be a gift to me this winter...
Nov 5, 2010
I know I've been a bit out of the loop lately, but it's been a pretty busy month for me thus far. I've been playing a lot of gigs from roof top's of swank restaurants to smokey pubs. Hey, whatever pays the bills...
Anyhow- I've been listening to a lot of spoken-word type jazz-rock and I'm really diggin' this track by The Doors. The music was written to Jim Morrison's poetry and was released on "An American Prayer"..Enjoy! (Below is a pic of one of my more recent gigs.)
